Ubicado a 50 metros de las pistas, el hotel Puerta del Sol es la opción ideal para disfrutar en familia ya que cuenta con diversos espacios y propuestas acorde a las necesidades de cada huésped.

Dispone de 121 habitaciones dobles o cuádruples que pueden conectarse entre sí. Todas están totalmente equipadas con calefacción, baño privado, caja fuerte y minibar. Algunas poseen terraza con vista directa a las pistas de ski. El lugar ofrece también WI FI gratuito en las zonas comunes y servicios para los esquiadores, como depósito para guardar los equipos, tienda de alquiler y clases de ski. Sumado a esto, existe servicio de habitaciones, bar, aprés ski, piscina climatizada al aire libre y fitness Center.

Sus amplios livings y el fogón de piedra al aire libre son protagonistas de encuentros y charlas interminables luego de un intenso día de nieve. Sin dudas, el after ski tiene su lugar al pie de este hotel.

5.0 "Hotel facilities are perfectly suited to accommodate, cater and entertain whoever you want, go skiing"

All the hotel’s facilities are perfectly suited to accommodate, cater and entertain anyone who wants, along with their family, to enjoy the first-rate ski centre, with lifts such as the Swiss gondola and the chairlift of the Andes Express, unique in Chile. All the catering (level -1 of the hotel) is also, without being excellent, according to the objective of the hotel, which is to feed the people who go skiing. There are also of course restaurant options for those who want something more sophisticated; this was not my case and I found the food and the buffet options good. During the stay ( 27 - 29 SEP 2024) we matched foreign skiing teams: US Ski Team and Austrian team. They were staying there for something. For them it is ideal because the season begins in the northern hemisphere. Wonderful stay. The only bad thing, in my case, is that it affects my height. Perhaps the hotel can offer some recommendations and mitigations.

5.0 "Focus on skiing"

Hotel ok! Clean, organized, comfortable and with easy access to the ski slopes. The strong point in fact are the ski slopes! I highly recommend private classes with instructor Tutti! Worth every penny! Do at least 1 hour a day with her, if you can all day. The evolution was wonderful and for any level of skiers. We found the Olympic team from the USA and Austria! It was very good

5.0 "Awesome service and fabulous views"

The staff at Valle Nevado resort are excellent. So friendly and helpful. They work hard to make sure guests are having a good stay. We had a problem with the taxi we arranged because he didn’t check the one way hours on the mountain road and missed his window to get up to collect us so Maximiliano worked like a champion to network with other hotels and find an open spot on a bus returning to Santiago! It saved us waiting six hours for our taxi. Room was comfortable and views are awesome. Good was good although be aware if your from USA that in Chile dinner service is not rushed. There is a diversity of restaurants and most staff speak good English making it very easy to order or clarify what you want. Vegetarian options are limited if you don’t eat fish (there’s lots of fish options). Skiing is sooo easy from Hotel Puerta del Sol and they offer ski check so you can leave your equipment at ground level in secure storage. Their checkout process is good and their setup gives you the option to ski your last day. You can leave your luggage with the bellhops (who are fabulous) and grab apres ski clothes and shower at the fitness center, all after checkout! There is a value added tax (VAT) of 19% which is not charged on items charged to the room so you may want to charge everything you can to the room. Otherwise you can try to get a VAT refund at airport but we haven’t done that yet so not sure how easy that is. Ski conditions this late in the season are what you’d expect for late spring skiing so if you want powder go in July or early August.
