About Penitents
Penitentes is a historic ski resort located in the heart of the Andes Mountains in Mendoza, Argentina, just a few kilometers from the imposing Mount Aconcagua. Known for its challenging slopes and proximity to National Route 7, it was for decades a favorite destination for skiers and snowboarders of all levels. However, since 2019, Penitentes has not operated as a ski resort due to concession issues and a lack of investment in infrastructure. Despite this, it remains an attractive destination for mountain and adventure lovers. Currently, activities such as trekking, climbing, hiking, and photography excursions are offered, taking advantage of its spectacular landscapes and privileged access to Andean routes. Penitentes retains its essence as a mountain refuge, offering a distinct but equally captivating experience for those seeking to connect with nature and explore the majesty of the Mendoza Andes.
